Why ketogenic diet?
The purpose of the keto diet is to get your body into ketosis and burn fats instead of carbohydrates for fuel. This diet includes high amounts of fat, adequate amounts of protein, and low levels of carbs.
When you eat a diet rich in carbohydrates, your body converts those carbs into glucose (blood sugar) which spikes your blood sugar levels. When blood sugar levels rise, they signal your body to create insulin, a hormone that carries glucose to your cells so that it can be used for energy. This is what is known as an insulin spike.
Glucose is your body’s preferred energy source. As long as you keep eating carbohydrates, your body will keep turning them into sugar which is then burned for energy. In other words, when glucose is present, your body will refuse to burn off its fat stores.
Why Vegan?
Going vegan is a great opportunity to learn more about nutrition and cooking, and most importantly improve your diet. Getting your nutrients from plant based foods allows more room in your diet for health-promoting options like fruits and vegetables, which are packed full of beneficial fibre, vitamins and minerals.
Why gluten free?
To manage celiac disease. In people with this autoimmune disease, gluten triggers the immune system to attack the small intestine. Even trace amounts of gluten can cause significant damage. If you have been diagnosed with celiac disease, the treatment is to adopt a strict, gluten-free diet. This allows the small intestine to heal so it can absorb nutrients properly, and reduces the risk of associated problems.
To reduce symptoms of gluten sensitivity. Unlike celiac disease and DH, gluten sensitivity is not an autoimmune disease. It’s more like lactose intolerance – the inability to process or metabolize lactose – except that it’s gluten that can’t be metabolized.
Recyclable for Waste Management
Recycling helps protect the environment. Recycling reduces the need for extracting (mining, quarrying and logging), refining and processing raw materials all of which create substantial air and water pollution. As recycling saves energy it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions, which helps to tackle climate change.
Our packages are made of materials than can be used again, usually after processing.
